Procurement
Fair partnerships based on strict criteria — building a sustainable, ethical supply chain.
OUR APPROACH
Fair Partnerships Based on Strict Criteria
Konica Minolta views the suppliers that provide our raw materials and parts — as well as those we use to manufacture our products — as essential partners in our business activities. We strive to build strong relationships with our business partners based on fair and transparent transactions and a commitment to providing superior products and services in a timely manner to our customers all over the world.
We also recognize it is essential to promote Corporate Citizenship not just within our own operations, but across our entire supply chain. This is why Konica Minolta promotes responsible procurement on a global basis and requires our business partners to consider human rights, labor issues and the environment in their business operations.
CALIFORNIA TRANSPARENCY IN SUPPLY CHAINS ACT
Our Commitment to Ethical Supply Chains
The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act ("Act") requires manufacturers and retailers doing business in California to report on their websites the activities they engage in to ensure that their supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.
Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. ("Konica Minolta") is committed to observing the highest ethical standards in the conduct of our business and has programs in place to effectively manage the risks of slavery and human trafficking throughout our supply chains.
Our Code of Conduct ("Code") serves as a guide for all our employees and third-party business partners, including suppliers, distributors, consultants and other business partners. Our Compliance Program also contains specific provisions addressing human rights, labor rights and business conduct to evaluate and address risks of human trafficking and slavery.
SUPPLY CHAIN GOVERNANCE
Our Compliance Framework
Conflict Minerals
We work in cooperation with the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association's (JEITA) responsible Mineral Procurement Investigative Commission.
RBA Code of Conduct
Konica Minolta is a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA). The RBA is an industry coalition dedicated to responsible business conduct in global supply chains. Konica Minolta conforms to the RBA Code of Conduct when working with our supply chain.
Ethics Hotline
The Konica Minolta Ethics Hotline (1-866-604-1225), where permissible under local laws, is available to all employees, directors and contractors, as well as our business partners, their employees or their subcontractors. The Hotline enables the reporting of noncompliance by Konica Minolta business partners, their employees or subcontractors and may remain anonymous. Konica Minolta employees who do not act promptly to report noncompliance matters may be subject to disciplinary action.
Position on Conflict Minerals (DRC)
Konica Minolta recognizes the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo and adjoining countries as well as the accompanying serious human rights abuses and environmental destruction are major international problems. As concerns that the mineral resources mined in this region, specifically tantalum, tungsten, gold and tin ("conflict minerals"), could be used to fund armaments, contributing to the conflict, efforts to address this international problem are being made to ensure responsibility in mineral supply chains.
KONICA MINOLTA'S PROCUREMENT POLICY
Five Principles of Responsible Sourcing
Konica Minolta pursues customer satisfaction by creating innovative products and services that contribute to our management philosophy, "The Creation of New Value." In procurement activities, we establish firm partnerships with our suppliers based on fairness and transparency and aim to build a sustainable society by fulfilling social responsibilities with our suppliers. Konica Minolta's Procurement Policy includes commitments to comply with laws, regulations and corporate ethics, respect for the human rights of workers and environmental protection. Konica Minolta is determined to fulfill its social responsibilities in all procurement activities, taking the initiative in its activities across the entire supply chain.
