The Mid-Buchanan R-V School District (Mid-Buchanan), known for its strong academic foundation and supportive learning environment, has long prioritized student and staff safety while embracing technology that empowers educators to work more efficiently.

The Solution
Konica Minolta introduced three key solutions to help Mid-Buchanan streamline operations, strengthen data security and modernize its digital environment.
1. PaperCut MF
PaperCut MF enhanced print security and efficiency across the district, protecting sensitive student information through secure print release and enabling detailed tracking of print usage by user and department. The system allows administrators to set quotas, print limits and customized rules, such as duplex-only or black-and-white printing, to encourage appropriate use. PaperCut MF features a built-in sustainability dashboard that provides live reporting on savings and waste reduction, helping the district meet its environmental goals while maintaining FERPA compliance and safeguarding confidential data.
2. Upland lnterFAX
Konica Minolta also introduced Upland lnterFAX, a cloud-based fax solution that meets FERPA compliance standards. The platform enables staff to send and receive faxes securely via email or web portal, eliminating the need for physical fax machines at each location. With cloud faxing, district personnel manage their fax communications from anywhere, improving flexibility and reliability.
3. School Gate Guardian
Finally, the district adopted School Gate Guardian, a comprehensive visitor management solution designed to enhance campus safety. After reviewing several options, Mid-Buchanan selected the solution for its robust functionality and ease of use. The system allows visitors to pre-register on line, where their information is securely screened to meet district safety standards before arriving on campus. Upon arrival, guests scan their ID at a self-service station, which prints a photo badge displaying their name and visit purpose. Mid-Buchanan implemented the cloud-hosted version of School Gate Guardian, which provides real-time updates and supports future integration with Infinite Campus for student check-in/out. The district also plans to deploy the Volunteer Online Management System, enabling automated background checks for school volunteers.
The Impact
Since implementing PaperCut MF, lnterFAX, and School Gate Guardian, Mid-Buchanan has significantly enhanced both its operational efficiency and overall campus security. Together, Konica Minolta's solutions have created a safer, more streamlined, and sustainable digital ecosystem for students, staff, and visitors.
The district now has greater control over its print environment, reducing paper waste, lowering costs, protecting sensitive student information through secure print release and detailed usage tracking. The system's reporting and sustainability features have also helped promote more responsible printing habits across departments.
